Xbox 360 owners to spurn HD DVD drive

I'll file this under, too early to tell so quit making predictions category. However, since we are I might as well talk about it. Yet another journal is predicting the outcome of the format wars. This time around, the victor shall be Blu-ray because the Xbox360 owners will not buy the HD DVD add on. I think they are discounting the fact that the add on is significantly cheaper then any other HD option out there.

According to predictions by trade journal Screen Digest, only 10 percent of Xbox 360 users will invest in the system’s optional HD DVD drive. For this reason, the trade analyst says it’s difficult to gauge the influence of the 360 on the HD format war. It concludes that Blu-ray retains the upper hand.
