Microsoft Loses the Online Content Fight

Chris L paints a pretty bleak Media Center picture by procaliming Microsoft has lost the online content fight. Simply said he is right. W7 has provided absolutely no new online content delivery and that is clearly the future. Hulu.com? Netflix? Amazon? anything?

My advice to Microsoft, buy boxee and integrate it into Media Center, Xbox 360, and Zune. Unless you have some big partnerships in the works (CES would have been a good place to unveil those), your platform is effectively dead for online content delivery (broadcast isn’t looking that hot either).

Edit: I guess it is also how you define the fight. If you narrow it down to HTPC software, there isn’t a released software solution that will allows you to connect with various online sites. XBMC and Boxee have started the trend but both implementations aren’t out of the beta or alpha stage.
