Winscape | Waking up in the same place every morning is boring.
Well I remember reading about Ryan’s initial implementation of Winscape in Jan 2005 Popular Science. Every few months I’ve checked his blog and to my surprise Uncrate featured the latest edition today.
I’d rather have a "real" view of a beach or skyline but that isn’t happening anytime soon so a very cool project, worth checking out.
After lots of preparation, the Winscape project has gone public. Maybe some folks will find the details interesting enough to build their own or buy a kit from us.
Winscape features include:
- Custom Winscape software with configurable screen parameters
- Two HD plasma displays for great contrast and wide viewing angles
- Video playback resolution of 1920×1080 with sound
- Still-image resolution of 4096×4096
- Fully embedded in the wall for aesthetics and silent operation
- Tracking of one person in the room for proper perspective presentation
- Scheduled on/off
- iPhone and web control of sleep/wake/scene selection
