Blu-ray Releases – July 19, 2011
Not a bad week of releases with a fair number of old films released on BD, such as the classic Boyz N the Hood and Amelie, sprinkled in with some new comedies such as Peep World and Take Me Home Tonight–which was decently amusing assuming you can stand Topher Grace for that long. Oh, and if you haven’t had enough terrible video game movies, then Tekken sure seems to fit that bill…which I refuse to watch.

My vote is for Torchwood; one
My vote is for Torchwood; one of my favorite shows, so I was very upset they cancelled it. Thankfully, Starz, the network which brought us Spartacus, picked it up. I only watched the first episode of Miracle Day, but it’s looking good so far. I’ve previously read that Torchwood is like a Doctor Who for adults and would tend to agree, even though I’m also a big fan of Doctor Who. Something I’m starting to like about the previous and current season of Torchwood is the single story arc, since they’re guaranteed to conclude it by the end of the season. While I wouldn’t mind multiple stories (as long as there’s no cliffhanger), this works, too.
