IZON Begins Selling 50″ & 65″ Glasses Free 3D 4K TV
I’ve stopped by the Stream TV booth at CES a few times, and TBH never left that impressed with their glasses free 3D tech. Now that could be because I mainly saw it in the digital signage application, and when it was on a consumer type display the resolution wasn’t high enough to provide a decent experience (similar to the image shredding that is apparent in passive 1080p 3D, but worse). Unfortunately, I’m not going to be able to make it to CES in January so I won’t have the chance to see for myself if putting more pixels behind this tech nets the same transformative benefit that is does for passive. All that said, I really hope that Stream TV (or someone else) can bring 3D back into the discussion – even with glasses, with the right content 3D simply provides a better, more immersive viewing experience.
Also, I found the PR (after the click) base on a tweet from @relisberg where he blogged about his experience with the company. If you’re interested in some more detail you should check out his post.
