Although Ultra HD TV has not yet quite supplanted HDTV as the norm, another buzzword has taken over – HDR, short for High Dynamic Range. There’s a lot of confusion in the media and the market about HDR because first of all the term is used for two quite different technologies, and secondly because there are by now an almost bewildering number of formats and allegations of a format war.
