I’ve been a Home theater fan for many years. Most of my gear was purchased during my dedicated HT build back in 98, with a few things changing since then:

Dedicated Home Theater:

• Definitive Technology BP2004 Mains (Last version of the newer BP-7004)
• Definitive Technology CLR 2002 Center
• Definitive Technology BP2X Surrounds
• Definitive Technology BP2X Front FX (See Integrated amp)
• Definitive Technology SuperCubeI Subwoofer (Recently added to add more ‘umph’ to the two 10″ powered subs built into the BP2004 towers)
• Yamaha DSP-A1 Integrated Amplifier (Top shelf unit in ’98, picture the RX-Z9 of the day, supports two additional ‘front FX channels’ for DSP processing)
• Denon DVD-2930CI DVD Transport (For single disc play)
• Sony DVP 400 Disc DVD Changer (for commonly watched discs)
• TiVO Series 3 HD Digital Media Recorder (Just replaced HTPC and old TiVO)
• Panamax 2000 Line Conditioner
• Sony 60″ SRXD 1080P Display

Furniture/Wires/Stands:

• La-Z-Boy ”Matinee” series Home Theater Seating (two ‘seats, console, wedge)
• Vampire Wire interconnects and most wiring.
• BellO Equipment Racks
• RPG Skyline audio diffuser panels
• X-10 lighting/dimming system
• 2 Bass traps (which double as diffused ambient lighting)
• Phillips Pronto TSU7000 Control (remote)

The Display and DVD players have been through a few generations. I have toyed with full projection, but my HT space (14 x 21) really does not need a 100″+ display, given my seating distance. Frankly, the 60″ display is too big for my seating distance on non-EDTV/HDTV content.

In the family room a bit more gear (main family TV Area):

• 3 Definitive Technology UIW 75 Reference (Mains+Center)
• 2 Definitive Technology UIW BP/A in wall speaker (Rears)
• 1 Definitive Technology ProSub10 Subwoofer
• Denon AVR-982 Receiver
• LiteOn 760GX 250GB HDD/DVD Recorder
• Series 2 TiVO (DIY upgrade to 250 Hours)
• Scientfic Atlanta HDTV Tuner
• Westinghouse 42″ LCD Monitor W4207 (just replaced my old Panasonic Rear projection 52″ HDTV, which was my old unit from HT) I got back lots of floorspace, yay!
• Logitech Harmony 880 Control (remote)

Kids play room:

• Pioneer VSX-300 series DPL receiver (old, old, old)
• 2 Definitive Technology UIW 65 Reference In Wall speakers
• Humax series 2 80 hour TiVO
• Phillips DVP3040 DVD/DiVX Player (Best Buy Black Friday special!)
• Pioneer 6 Disc CD changer (cartridge model, old)
• Viewsonic 32″ LCD Display
• Phillips Pronto TSU1000 control (remote) My 3 year old can operate this unit with ease due to macros and special page setups.
