I love reading Chris’s blog, I always tend to agree with him on most things. I don’t think MS is helping much with keeping prices down; with the retail version (and OEM isn’t going to be that much less) the price of vista isn’t going to make it easy to build a Vista MCE system at more then $200. With MCE2k5 it was simple cause the price premium over it and XP Home was just $20 so you saw a lot more systems from OEMs running MCE2k5 then XP Home.
Not to mention the whole CableCard fiasco. If I wasn’t getting a Vista upgrade with the copy of MCE I bought I don’t think I would be upgrading to it. There just isn’t much reason too IMO.
