My media collection just passed 500 gigs so I bought an internal 750 to hold everything on one drive. I am planning to purchase an external 1T drive but do not want a RAID system such as the 2×500 mybook by WD. I prefer a full 1T SINGLE harddrive. So I checked around and the only single drive that with a 1T capacity is manufactured by Hitachi, called the Deskstar. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145167
Now, I have heard the Deskstars referred to as DeathStars so what better place to ask 🙂 if anyone knows if this thing is worth it or should I hold out for Seagate or WD to come to market. Anybody have a clue?
BTW, I have this external enclosure waiting for whatever sata hard drive i finally choose. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817193024
