Re: Sagetv gets iPad-iPhone-and iPod Touch Streaming

First off, this was done by the community, not SageTV themselves.  (Although, to be fair, they do generally give out loads of assistance when the developers ask for it.)  Android will probably be added later, but since this is being developed by one of the community users, he started with the Apple market.

Second, the benefit is for people who aren’t always at home to watch TV or don’t have a TV in every room.  This allows them to bypass a full computer when they may only have their phone or if they don’t normally bring a computer with them on the train to work.  The response to the plugin has been overwhelming and the developer was shocked, so clearly there’s a great demand for this.  The kitchen might be another nice place to stream to your iPad for cooking shows or if you have the type of family which prefers to watch TV at the dinner table instead of talk.

Sometimes it’s tough to see beyond our own uses for technology.
