As some of you already know, I’ve recently won an Omaura TF8 HTPC Case in the recent contest.
I’ve never owned HTPC system before, so with this win, I have a chance to build my first HTPC system.
I already own 42″ Sharp Aquos LCD TV, so the new HTPC will be a nice add-on to it.
Since the Omaura case is being shipped from China, I guess it’ll take it 2-3 weeks till I’ll actually get it, so in the meantime, I already started to save money for the parts I’m going to put in it. ;D
Since I already have a spare 120GB HD, at least for the beginning I’m going to use this one and save the money of a new HD.
I don’t want to spend too much money on the new HTPC, so I’m thinking about buying the following parts for it:
[b]CPU: Intel C2D E2180 2.0 GHz 1MB Cache
Mobo: eVGA/Gigabyte 630i / 7150 built-in Video Card w/ HDMI support
RAM: OCZ Platinum 2GB (2x1GB) XTC 4-4-4-15
PSU: HEC/TopPower 400W
Wireless Network Card: D-Link 54Mbps wireless PCI
DVD-RW: LG/LiteOn x20 SATA DVD-RW
Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft Wireless Desktop 1000 Keyboard+Mouse Set
PVR: Hauppage PVR150[/b]

Of course, as soon as I’ll get BOTH the Case, I’ll go and buy the parts immetiately and then of course, I guess I’ll need your help in building it and setting everything up (I mean the software and how to set up the EPG).
I think I’m going to use Vista Ultimate 64-bit, as I have a licensed copy sitting at home… 🙂
