Hey all, I purchased a Lite-On DH-401S08 Blu-Ray player and installed it in my HTPC. I installed Power DVD Ultra. Whenever I try to play a movie (Have tried Apocalypto and Casino Royale) it freezes up on me. It will play for about 5-15 minutes, then stalls. I then installed it in my workstation and it works fine.
My HTPC is running Vista Ultimate, and it’s a lean machine as far as installed software goes. The only thing I have installed other than PDVD is AC3 filter, Speedfan, and Divx. It has all available updates, and I have installed the latest video and chipset drivers for my mobo. This is all on a newly formatted HDD. Specs are as follows:
Abit AN-M2 (Geforce 7025/630a) Mobo, AMD 6000 (3 ghz) Dual Core CPU, 2 GB of Ram, 160 GB HDD, 8500GT video card. It is hooked up to a 55″ Mitsubishi 1080i rear projection using component outputs, audio thru optical SPDIF.
I thought at first it may be a heat problem, but it is running about 36 deg Celsius, and the CPU usage is running at about 30-35% when it is actually playing.
Any suggestions as to what may be wrong would be sincerely appreciated. I only have about a week before the time runs out for me to return it, however I really want to keep it. I have spent hours reading and googling the web for answers, but alas, nothing seems to work for me.
Thanks
