I make this post with much trepidation as I find reading forum posts about audio equipment, and in particular speakers, maddening as it seems everybody has an opinion but those opinions are stated as facts, and not just regular facts but “believe what I say or I will kill you” facts. So, a few caveats:

I do not have golden ears, and have been happy with my modest system
I will not be spending huge sums of money on an audio system
I do not have a physics degree and am not concerned about yours
I am motivated to make this post by a Woot item that will expire in about 12 hours, so I’m really looking for quick, practical, advice.

[/list:u]I am looking for a new center speaker that I can lay down on my TV stand in front of my LCD flat panel. Not knowing much about proper sound system architecture, my primary motivation is looks. I’ve seen some speakers such as this Bose model that would look good under the TV, but $200 is a bit steep for me right now.
What I have: Right now I have 5 Eosone RS-100’s and a Eosone Sub (Eosone’s are no longer made, and I cannot find a link right now, sorry). They are driven by a Yahama mid level 5.1 receiver more than 5 years old (I’ll get the model number when I go home). As alluded to above, I have had this setup for over 5 years and have been happy with it. For years, I just set the center on top of my CRT TV, maybe it was not ideal but it worked. Now I have a flat panel and can no longer do this, so the center is lying on its side on the TV table in front of the TV. It does not look great, and judging from how the speaker is laid out, I’m guessing that laying it on its side is messing with the sound field.
I have read up in the past on the Esones that I have and have learned that they are dipole speakers and may be difficult to match. I really do not know much about this stuff, but don’t want to by an incompatible speaker.
I found this today on Woot (link below only useful today, Thur 3/20/08–who knows what will be there tomorrow):

It looks like it would aesthetically fit nicely ,and the Woot discussion seems to indicate that it is a decent speaker. However, being a speaker novice, I figured that I would ask for some advice and I trust this community not to devolve the topic into an elitist philosophical battle.
-Thanks
