Nice article, and i think great for beginners to understand…but he forgets the #1 piece of why people buy inexpensive sets–they’re just not videophiles! I’m sorry, but I’ve seen a wide range of LCDs in my day, from as cheap as Best Buy’s Insignia brand, to as high as Vidikron, and of course the quality is better…but not worth the absurd amount extra it costs in my opinion.
I remember seeing a deal a year ago, for a 32″ LCD HD from fry’s, with QAM tuner, for $500. The 4 or 5 year warranty only cost $120….I didn’t buy it, but how can you complain about knowing that you’re going to have a working tv for 5 years, for under $650!
