I am planning on building a client/server setup for my ripped DVD collection. I am looking for free/inexpensive software that can easily catalog my collection and also has a “play” button so I can stream it from the server. If I understand correctly, My Movies can do this, but I want to use XP for the clients (not MCE). I just want to stream DVDs, so I don’t need all the features of something like Sage, and there will be a bunch of clients so Sage would get expensive.
Can anybody recommend software that can do this, or is it time for me to move to Vista?
