Using the HP $400 off coupons to get a inexpensive CableCard system is a pretty good idea. I would really pursue this if I knew that there would be long term value to the cable card tuners. I’m concerned about SDV obsoleting them pretty quickly (although there is talk of a Cisco add-on to existing CableCard systems). Problem is if you want more than one PCI slot on the motherboard you have to buy a more expensive version of the computer. I guess I would try to part as much of it out as possible since it’s quite a bit of overkill/parts I wouldn’t use.
