I have started to rip a few DVDs to the USB hard drive that is connected to my main HTPC.  I have the hard drive shared across my network.  The main reason is so that I have easy access to the movies from SageTV, and that works fine.  But the reason I want to share the drive is so that my son’s MCE computer can play the movies, too.  But when I was playing around with his PC the other night, I tried to play one of the movies after I added the drive as a place for MCE to “look” for videos and got the message that it is an unsupported file type and perhaps I don’t have the decoder installed.  So, can MCE not play back ripped DVDs in VIDEO_TS folders?
