Hi guys!
As some of you already know, I’ve recently built a new HTPC system based on Vista Ultimate Media Center 64-bit.
Since I’ve heard it’d better to install ONLY FFDSHOW, Matroska and Haali Media Splitter, this is what I did and…everthing plays just fine, including subtitles and MKV HD files.
But…recently, I’ve noticed that 3 XVID movies I’ve tried to play (Fargo, HellRide and Sicko) are not playing properly.
I DO have sound and I can see the Video Thumbnail in the ‘Videos’ Library, but when I start to play the movie, I have NO IMAGE, but only a BLACK SCREEN (sound is working)…
I tried playing the same movies ‘outside’ VMC, with WMP11 and they also behave the same…
When I try playing the movies on my other Vista-64-bit-based PC, they play well…
Am I missing something???
I’ve tried also to install Vista 64-bit Codecs Pack and also Xvid Codec 64-bit, and still…problem remains.
And yeap, I have Xvid enabled in FFDSHOW and I’ve tried setting it both to use ‘xvid’ and ‘libacodec’…
I can live with it, as it’s only 3 movies, and the rest of my movies (about 20) play fine…but I’m afraid, I’ll have more problems with more movies in the future…
Any idea what might be the problem???
Your help/advice will be well-appreciated…

I’ve check if XVID Codec is working using GraphEdit and IT IS!
Strangely enough, when I installed DivX 6.8 Codec, now I can play the 3 ‘problematic’ movies I’ve metioned in WMP11 ONLY (outside VMC), but they still show no video but sound only in VMC…
Any more ideas???
