Hello guys!
I’ve been reading guides, news and posts on this site for a while and I figured it would be time for me to step in.
I’ve decided to start building my first HTPC. So I started looking at some cases and Antec’s NSK2480 caught my attention. From what I’m reading it looks like a great case at a great price, and I am already a big fan of Antec cases, having 2 P182’s at home.
I couldn’t find any decent review on the case so I’m asking you guys, would this be a good start? Is there any downside to it being mATX? Is the included 380W powersupply enough?
Ideally, I want to use this to watch and record TV (HD TV too if possible), and watch/catalog DVDs and BluRays. I will not game on this computer since I have a gaming rig in my room. The space I have for the case in my living room bellow my 1080P Samsung LN-T4061F is quite limited, hence why I’m considering a mATX case.
Essentially, I want this to be reasonably cool, quiet, and fast enough to smoothly playback 1080P movies. No gaming.
Any input concerning this case? Next I’ll be looking at the components to put in it.
Stuff I already have:
[list]
[*]40” Samsung 1080P TV
[*]Windows Vista Ultimate
[*]HDTV satellite box
[*]HDMI and DVI to HDMI cables from Monoprice (they rock!)
[*]Antec Fusion 430 casing
[*]Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H with GeForce 9400 chipset
[*]Core 2 Duo E7400 CPU
[*]Ninja MINI CPU Cooler
[*]2 x 1 gigs of Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4
[*]LG GGC-H20LK BD/HD-DVD drive
[*]2 x Samsung Spinpoint F1 – 640 Go SATA II 7200 (HD642JJ)
[*]nMedia keyboard and remote combo
[*]Linksys WMP54G wireless PCI adapter[/list:u]
Any tip is appreciated as I’m a noob in this HTPC business. Thanks!
