Not as long as the analog hole (or a workaround) exists. As long as DRM exists, I’ll continue to drive down the DIY road. If I record something, I don’t want some other entity deciding when I’m done with it. If I like it that much, I’ll probably even buy it, rip it, and have it available whenever and wherever *I* choose. Until these companies figure that out, I don’t need them.
Sadly, Media Center is only going to get more and more DRM. It may (someday) bring the home media center into the spotlight for mainstream users, but, in my estimation, that’s a long way off.
