Well I wasn’t sure if this was posted before, but I did a search and didn’t find it.
Yesterday I had some time to go through and see if there was an effective way to get my DVD Library from my HTPC to my extender and there is now a nice patch out there that does this very easily. Check out the following link-

There is a simple step by step on how to do it. But essentially you install mplayer, put a directshow dll and transcoder dll in your ehome file and run a transcoder.reg file and that’s it!
Your DVD Library now appears on your extender and can play the main movie file. There are some limitations-
1) No menu
2) You can only fast forward a few minutes (no skipping scenes)
Otherwise this works pretty good. Now it’s time for me to convince the wife we need another XBOX 360 and some more HDD space (newegg had a deal for 1TB Hitachi drives for $80).
