Yesterday, my wife and I sat down to start watching Stargate on bluray that we’ve had for a while now. I chose the DTS soundtrack, and we watched part of the movie until we had to leave to go to town. When we got back last night we picked up where we left off. A few minutes later, when James Spader sees the alien animal for the first time and goes over to it (in case anyone sees or remembers the movie), he starts talking to it and the audio is way out of sync. I actually noticed it right before this scene when Kurt Russell walks up to the camp and looks around and asks, “Where’s Jackson?”, but I thought maybe I was mistaken. I closed PowerDVD and reopened and then used Scene Index to choose the closest one and the problem repeated its self. So then I thought a restart would take care of it. Once the PC was back up I was going to scene index again but I acidentally clicked the wrong one and it took me further ahead. When it started playing I noticed the audio was in sync. So I went back to the Main Menu and chose the correct scene. But when it started it was out of sync again. So I believe that only this part of the movie has the problem. I got the idea to switch soundtracks on-the-fly, so I changed to Dolby Digital. Now the audio was in sync again. Anyone experienced anything like this on a movie before? I’m going to try playing with Arcsoft when I get a chance to see if the problem is still there. I was using PowerDVD with analog outs.
