I have a DirecTV HD DVR (HR21, I think) and just recently ordered a non-DVR HD receiver (H20) for use with my HD-PVR. The PQ from the DVR is excellent, but the non-DVR receiver suffers from a poor picture due to a simple coupler from a wall plate. Everything is absolutely identical, yet the DVR apparently does not get impacted by the coupler being in the middle of the cable run and the non-DVR receiver does. Has anyone seen or heard of such an issue? Any resolutions?
I called DirecTV about the poor PQ and they agreed to send a technician out free of charge, but this really makes no sense to me. At this point, I’m thinking I need a new, longer cable run all the way from the satellite so that I can reach the media closet where the receiver is being relocated to.
