It’s official…my HTPC has lost it’s “mind”! Lately I’ve just been keeping my HTPC on to avoid the start-up times and to make things easier on the wife (can’t get S3 to work well for some reason). Tonight, I switch my input on the TV over to the one for the PC expecting to see the SageTV screen saver. But instead I see the blue welcome screen in the background and a message box across the middle of the screen. I had to get close to make it out as my TV is 1080i, and I see that it reads, “The hardware in this machine has changed drastically since the last time Windows was installed and needs to be reactivated.” Huh??? I don’t remember how long the OS has been installed, but it has been quite a while. And I have not put any new hardware in; it’s been the same for as long as I’ve had the OS except for adding a bluray drive, a VistaView tuner, and an external hard drive. And they’ve all been working for quite a while now. I don’t understand this.
