It’s time to update my HTPC as my motherboard has bit the dust. I need some help as I haven’t been keeping up on all the new hardware and I hope to reuse some of the old hardware. I use the HTPC for music/movies/OTA HD/web.
Old System:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ with zalman cooler (replace)
Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra 9 (replace)
Nvidia Geforce 6600 (?)
Fusion HDTV5 (keep)
WinTv (keep)
Seasonic 350W (keep)
Silverstone LC17 (keep)
Seagate 400gb HD (keep)
WD 360gb HD Sata (keep)
New Replacements:
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4 or Gigabyte GA-MA780G-UD3
Phenom II X3 710 HDX710WFGIBOX 2.6ghz
LG Black Bluray-HD DVD Drive (not necessary have PS3 and Toshiba HD-DVD Player but it’s SATA and boards only have 1 IDE that I need for a hard drive with movies)
WD Green 500gb Hard drive
Do I need a new video card? HTPC will be connected to a Pioneer Elite Receiver.
