Im about to pull the trigger and put together a atom based NAS.
Here’s my intentions: (about 350.00 on NewEgg)
Atom 330 (b/c I wan’t the integrated gigabyte ethernet)
2 gig ram
2 x 1TB WD Green Drives in RAID 1 mirrored config
Ubuntu Server
Im essentially following these guides from Small Net Builder:

http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/30573/77/
I am planning to keep all my media on the NAS and only have the operating system on a small HDD in the HTPC.
Is there anything I need to watch out for when using a NAS from VMC?
What sort of throughput should I be looking for for streaming HD video?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
