Great write-up. I am actually using Event Ghost in a pretty interesting way. I have a D-Link MCE Extender. For some reason, it does not respond very well to IR commands sent using a Harmony remote. Since I also have the IR Reciever for the main MCE PC in the room, I am using Event Ghost to send TCP commands to the vmcController MC plugin. That plugin then sends the remote commands over the network to the extender. Works like a charm! Solves the hinky IR problem.
