I guess this a good thing, because everything has been working for the last year, but I’ve been out of the scene for a while…..but now I want to go the next level with the HD revolution. I’ve started to some things to prepare for this major upgrade cycle, like getting gigabit ethernet setup in the house.
With this in mind, I’m looking to build a server but I’m not really sure what WHS would have over say WinXP for my uses. I don’t really need the backup capability as I’ve already got a system for that on the one computer it matters. The online access to files is cool, but not necessary. If all I want to do is stream media files across the house, what definite advantage does WHS have over WinXP?
