This is one of the 2nd generation Profile 1.1 Funai OEM’ed players, they aren’t too bad all-in-all. The 2nd generation model that is being talked about here doesn’t seem to have compatibility complaints.
The one slight hesitation is how slow Magnavox has been to update their website to admit they have Blu-ray players at all, they let a whole generation of players go by without updating their website to say they even had them!
Only about a month ago did they finally update their website to talk about the two generations of players and finally provided a firmware update for their first generation player. But it seems they might have gotten the message from the consumers about providing proper support.
