    Hi all,

Possibly a stupid question, but here goes.  I’ve got a G45-based P5Q-EM HTPC running Windows 7 RC, connected via HDMI to a Denon receiver with a 5.1 speaker setup.  I use Zoomplayer for non high-def playback and TMT3 for Blu-ray.  If I configure the ffdshow audio decoder to pass-through DTS or AC3 sound, I only get 2.1 sound at the receiver.  If I untick those two boxes, I get 5.1 audio but the DTS/DD lights go out (obviously ffdshow is decoding the DTS/DD and presumably passing it as LPCM).  Similarly, if I configure TMT’s audio in HDMI mode, I only get 2.1 sound but setting it to 5.1 everything works (this is tested using a Blu-ray as well as a regular DVD).

Can anyone explain this behaviour?  It seems that my receiver disables Audyssey when it’s getting LPCM, so I’d prefer DTS/DD pass-through if possible.

    Cheers,
    ET
