I live here in Cincinnati and every year they have a show called Homearama where they build anywhere from 5-10 homes and deck out the decor and build nice basements with Bars and sometimes home theater rooms. In the last high end home I stopped in they had a dedicated home theater room that was open on one side (vs. having a secluded room with a door.) It had nice lighting and a big screen with a projector. Anyhow down to business. I noticed that they had this AV rack off to the side in the open. On the AV rack they had a receiver, an amp, a blue ray player, cable box, and a box that looked like a UPS. However I did not notice a home theater PC or even a server at all. I thought to myself wouldn’t it have been much simpler to just have an HTPC to take up less room, have more options etc… I guess most of it was for show? It did look very cool sitting there in the dark flashing lights. Not really a rant or anything I guess I just expect more from a home that was worth 1.1 mil.
