Ok so after my fiasco with a bad CPU I am finally installed and up and running. I got done with all the windows updates and driver installs. HEre are the Specs so far:

    Foxconn G31 board
    Celeron 3.2GHz
    2x 1GB DDR2 800MHz
    on board NIC
    on board video
    DVD-R/RW drive
Main install drive was a 320GB 7200 RPM IDE drive
FastTrac TX4310 SATA PCI controller 4x SATA ports

My plan is to put the 1TB drives I get on the Fastrac controller to keep them together and then other drives later on on the 4 SATA ports on board

Right now I installed my 320GB SATA to the onboard port and added it to the storage pool, and my first empty 1TB drive has been added to my PCI controller. I have put my first drives that had data on them in to the system and am in the process of copying everytihng over (which I imagine will take all night lol). After I get done with the first terrabyte drive (moving data over) I’ll add it to the pool shutdown and hook in my last 1TB drive and copy that data off. then ofcourse add it to the pool once data is off.

So at this point I am in the researching phase trying to see what addins I want to put on and etc. I know I’ll be using mymovies but not sure if I should just wait the extra two days and put on the new version when it comes out, or just put the existing version on now.

Are there any other tings I should watch out for or add-ins i should look at? Once I am done copying all my data over I plan on configuring my power options so I can have the server  sleep after 11pm during the week and kick back on when I choose (not sure if I want to tell it 4:30pm before I get home or earlier for days I happen to be honme or etc… still trying to decide the best route).

    BAck to researching 🙂
