About 2 1/2 yrs ago I drank the HD-DVD coolaid. Now I’m left with about a dozen or so HD-DVDs. I would like to rip them to my WHS and play them on my PCs. So questions:
1. What program is available to rip HD-DVDs? (free is better since I only have a few HD-DVDs)
2. What file format is a combination of best quality and more universally playable by Win7MC and appliances like my LG DB390?
3. Are there any special programs or codecs needed for playback in Win7MC? I notice that Win7MC includes an HD sample clip so I am assuming that it is capable of playing HD video but also assuming it needs to be in a specific format.
My desktop computer that I use for ripping is equipped with 2 drives that were advertised as BR/HD-DVD Rom drives so I’m hopping it I will be able to read them with those drives.
Any suggestions???
