So I was having issues with my new 4670 video card freezing up. The first thing that would happen soon after boot up would be the ati driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Then if I fired up TMT or just left the machine on it would die. So without any blue screen or any errors in the events log I started backtracking thru my hardware. Reseated cards, move ram around and disconnected unused hardware from the power. Next step was to move from my raid 0 array to an SSD to free up as much power as possible. So I thought this would be a good time to use the recovery disc. No luck. I can browse to the directory where the backup is and I can install the raid driver and it still fails. The OS I am trying to restore is Windows 7 pro.
Has anyone succesfully restored an image here? Can it be used for restoring to a new HDD. I would think so, because a failed HDD would be a common scenario whether it is a HDD failure or a virus wiping the drive.
