I have to let you guys in on a deal that I found out about last week. It might be a little late to take full advantage, but it’s still a pretty good deal. Here’s what I did.
Toys R Us had a deal where if you bought both discs at the same time, you got them each for $16.99. Go here to print out a $5.00 coupon for each movie, http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/disneymagicalsavings/?cmp=dmov_dvd_dmsave_url_patfcoupon. This coupon expires tomorrow. Then go here, http://forum.blu-ray.com/movie-tv-deals/136829-10-upgrade-coupon-toy-story-1-2-via-dmr.html. There you will find a link that will take you to Disney’s site where you can get $10.00 off coupons for each movie. If you have Toy Story 1 and 2 already on DVD, you put the UPC code in at the site and it will make the coupons available to you. If not, just use the codes provided at the 2nd link I gave.
So I paid $16.99 + $16.99 = $33.98 * .05 for tax = $35.68 – $10 – $10 = $15.68 – $5 – $5 = $5.68 total for both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 bluray/DVD combo with free movie tickets.
Like I said, it may not be as good a deal now since you’re probably going to have to pay full price for the blurays instead of $16.99 each, but the coupons should still get you a good deal. Some people have reported trouble of getting the store to take both the $10 and the $5 coupon; the guy ringing mine up said that I couldn’t “double up”. Once I pointed out that the coupons were for different amounts he said, “Oh, I didn’t realize that.” He thought I was trying to use 2 of the same coupon for each disc. This is an awesome deal.
