New Sandy Bridge Build – Problem ?

      So I got my Sandy Bridge build parts:

      2600K, Intel BoxDH67GD, Crucial 300 64gb, WD 2 TB EURS (recorded TV drive), 12 gb Corsair Vengeance, internal IR header.

      Also installed Ceton, Theater Pro 650 (analog, no simulcast), 2 HDHRs, LG Bluray drive, Virtual Clone.

      On the original install: Flashed to latest BIOS: install: UEFI setup, formated SSD for UEFI. Had a couple of things I didn’t like, so decided to set it up again.

      After many tries, downgrading BIOS etc. The system would not take the UEFI setup. Every time I loaded the graphics driver, I’d get a blue screen on reboot. Tried every thing I could think of.

      So flashed back to latest BIOS, install again using BIOS, format drive, etc.

      All is well, working great! .. last night.

      This morning, 2 bluescreens so far. It’s on but I’m not using it, just the extender.

      Blue Screen something like:

      “Clock Cycle Secondary Proccessor, Timed out, no response”

      Time for a RMA? (never had to do that before!). (No updates available from windows update or intel site.

      Which one or both, MB, CPU or Both.

      One other thing, the machine wont connect to my WHS. Shares are available, but WHS won’t show under Network, and no access thru menus (ex: YAMMM). Window Connector Software and Media Connector installed.

      Any thoughts, Help!

        Try removing the ATI Theater Pro 650.  I’ve had conflicts with that card in the past, especially on 64-bit

          For the shares not being visible.  Can you confirm you’ve set the network card firewall profile to PrivateHome?

            Well that’s why I posted here, waiting for you to show up! I would have never thought of the 650 card.

            Many thanks as always! Next blue screen I’ll pull it and give it a go!

            I’ll have to take a look at the network settings, but I didn’t change anything.

            It did it on my initial install too (and couldn’t fix), that’s why I did the reinstall that wouldnt load graphic drivers.

              Well, pulled the 650 and internal CIR receiver, ran for about 12 hrs, BSOD, then re-installed CIR, BSOD in 20 minutes, pulled CIR, BSOD overnight. 

              Looked up error on net. “Clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor with in the allocated time interval”

              Everyone has tried everything, lots of voltage adjustment band-aids, years of threads with multi-cores. But the commom thought thru-out, if any one thought. CPU or motherboard or both. But all said random. Sometimes ran for days, sometimes BSOD every 10 minutes

              For $500 of CPU and mb, I RMA’d. Parts winging their way back to CA and Newegg today. Hoping better luck next time.

              I had already started setting my “old” core i5-650 back up in another case, so at least I have TV & Media Center for the next week and a half!

              I’d be curious to know if any one else has this error with their Sandy Bridge.

                I agree w/ Michael on the 650; relegated mine to the closet of old tech a long time ago.

                Definitely update us when you get the parts back.  My experience with SNB has been great, as a HTPC and as real PC (it’s crazy fast compiling code :)).

                  Well for the few days I had it setup and running, besides the BSsOD….. Yes crazy fast!

                  I’m using it for a HTPC only, but for all the menus/thumbnails/etc, everything was running smooth and fast … everything “POPS”……

                  Can’t wait to get the replacement parts back! Hope Newegg doesn’t take too long! (never RMA’d anything before, have always been able to work things out, but didn’t want to take a chance with this MB & CPU and be “pissed” in a month!).

                    Like Andrew said, keep us in the loop.  I’ll post my two Sandy Bridge builds today–both very stable.

                      2500k from MC deal working with 1 ceton tuner and sharing another ceton from another machine total of 6 tuners assigned to this device and 2 to the other devices floating around.

                      its all my wifes damn programming wish i only needed one 4 tuner. I cant wait for silicone dust rack mount soultion that would save the day for me i hate dongles
