And it looks like they plan on getting into HTPC via the Amiga line. Heck if the VIC-slim had HDMI out (it does have DVI) it would be a great second HTPC though I am not sure about its Intel graphics. Still pretty cool stuff and I like the Amiga cases. I’d love to review one for MR 😉

I still have my original C64 so I had to promote to the front page.

My wife keeps trying to get me to clean out the bottom of one of our closets, which has all my old Commodore hardware and software.  So far, I’ve kept her at bay.  😉

As interesting as this product is, I don’t think I could bring myself to buy one.  The cost is somewhat high and the usefulness is questionable.  The only place I see this being used is in the TV room, but why would I want an entire computer on my lap, instead of a wireless keyboard.  Also, I’d need to hook up the computer via cable to the TV.

I guess I’m just not the target market.  I’ll continue using my emulators on the HTPC instead.

I wish I had kept my Commodore 128.

Still have my old C64 w/tape drive and monitor sitting in a box next to my Apple IIgs.  Wish I’d kept my original Apple II and Macintosh.

oliverred, and i bet that bad boy still works like a champ huh? I was amazed at how awesome that system was. I too wish i had kept mine, but no way it would’ve survived all my moves

They were boxed up well but they haven’t been plugged in over 2 decades.  Would be a bit concerned if the casing on the wires have turned brittle or if the capacitors have leaked.  Stuff used to built pretty solid back then, might even still run without needing (much) work.  I’d be curious if any of the disks I packed with them still have a magnetic charge.

I still have fond memories of using a ball point pen, a $5 radio shack light sensor, and some cables to make a light pen for the C64.  Between that and the SID chip, it had some great features that disappeared with the early IBM compatibles.

That light pen was one thing I never got to use.  I saw it on the Apple (remember LOGO?), but never used it.  Then, I got into programming and gaming on the C64 and that took up most of my childhood.  Good times!

Anyone remember playing the original Castle Wolfenstein and it’s absolutely ridiculous control scheme?  A two-handed joystick, plus the top left key on the keyboard to shoot.  WTF?!?!

I played Castle Wolfenstein on the Apple IIs. I can’t remember now if it was keyboard, joystick or both.
