Was using my new HTPC yesterday and things were going just fine.  I had just installed the CIR drivers for it, and the remote started working perfectly in sage.  Then I rebooted at some point, and got an error message before the OS loading that there was no keyboard.  Both USB keyboard and mouse are installed in the back panel USB2.0 ports.  I moved them to the USB 3.0 ports and they worked, but noticed I also no longer have a working ethernet port.

If I turn off power, the ethernet link light comes on, as soon as I power up, it goes off, and never comes on again.

Did my board die?  Internal USB2.0 header works (the one next to sata port) but at least both rear USB2.0’s and the ethernet jack wont work at all.  I tried reinstalling all the applicable drivers in the OS and nothing helped.  Even flashed the latest BIOS and nothing.

i know this is going to suck to hear, but before you can really say the board is dead, i think you need to try reinstalling the OS entirely from scratch. If it didn’t power up at all, then i would say it was, but the fact that it really seams to be a weird driver conflict, i’d say the OS reinstall is worthwhile

I can do that.  But with the keyboard and mouse in the USB 2.0 Ports, i get a no keyboard error right before the OS loads. Can’t get into Bios.  so to re-install i will need to have those in the USB 3.0 Ports.

If the ports don’t work outside of the OS I think you should contact support.  You will probably need to replace it.

I agree.  I just tried to re-install using the 3.0 ports and quickly realized they are not active until drivers get loaded during the install, so I cant install like that.  Time to disassemble.  Joy joy.

*update* I figure I cant disassemble until tonight, so before I left for work I unhooked all cables and unplugged the CMOS battery.  Not sure if that will do any good to sit like that or not, but worth a shot I guess.
