      Hello,

I’m going to rebuild my Windows XP MCE over into a Windows 7 Ultimate MCE
I have a left over GPU from my main PC …
      a EAH6970 DCII/2DI4S/2GD5

Specifications of the card are here
      AMD Radeon HD 6970
      PCI Express 2.1
      GDDR5 2GB
      Engine Clock 890 MHz
      Memory Clock 5500 MHz ( 1375 MHz GDDR5 )
      Resolution:
      D-Sub Max Resolution : 2048×1536
      DVI Max Resolution : 2560×1600
      DVI Output : Yes x 1 (DVI-I), Yes x 1 (DVI-D)
      HDMI Output : Yes x 1 (via DVI to HDMI adaptor x 1 )
Display Port : Yes x 4 (Regular DP)
      HDCP Support : Yes
      11.7 ” x 5 ” Inch

I plan on using this card to drive my HTPC to the Samsung 51″ Plasma TV
The card is very quiet and should fit inside my chassis.

Any HDCP issues that you might see with the specifications on this card?

      Thank you in advance.

It should work fine with the right adapter.

That’s a crazy amount of dGPU to put in a HTPC. Unless you’re gaming as well, something smaller might be better (and quieter).

The card is actually very quiet.
The Asus DIRECT CU II heatsink keeps the card very cool.
For the size of the card and the masive amount of fans
You might exspect that it would be to loud.

The same standard HDCP issues that seems to happen with any card.  It’s all about handshake issues, which seems to have more to do with Windows and the TV/receiver connecting right than the particular video card.  I’m still glad I eventually invested in a HDMIDective to get rid to those occasional HDCP handshake problems my setup had.
