I think a check-in with the dvblogic team to discuss the imminent release of v. 4.0 would be a great addition.
I am just getting to know
I am just getting to know your site, which is great by the way. I’d like to see a categorized index for your reviews so for instance, say I want to see all your reviews of mini-ITX cases I could find them easy. Thanks!

We have that available as tags right now but we are still in the process of going through previous reviews and populating it. When that is “more” complete we will make the tags easily accessible to drill down.
My suggestion was going to be
My suggestion was going to be a drop down for the reviews tab as well. Glad to hear you are working on it.
I think you guys should have
I think you guys should have a little section devoted to purchasing parts for an HTPC build.
Here’s the premise, the section has 3 categories: on the cheap, midrange, and futureproof.
on each of the three pages is a build summary table like the one you have on the “beginner’s guide to building an HTPC”. Here’s the catch: Once a month (or quarterly, or yearly) you update the components (with prices).
That way, people looking to build an HTPC can at a glance see what they might expect to spend for what type of quality build.

Oh stay tuned! I’m right there with you on this request, and I think you’re going to love what we have in store, but it may be a bit until we get this particular feature.

I think the site needs a graphical WAF rating system. With a smiley face for friendly stuff and a little glaring eyeball icon to let me know I shouldn’t buy something unless I want to sleep on the couch…
Any way that when I re-visit
Any way that when I re-visit a blog post with new comments that the site can automatically bounce me down to the first new comment? It seems to me there used to be a link to the new comments at the top, but I haven’t seen that lately.

This was broken for a while but should be working now. If you click on the (Number) next to the thread on the “Recent Topics” section, it should jump you to the newest posts. Is that what you’re referring to?

We had a “Last Post” when it was a mix Forum Post Article (that we don’t do anymore). We will add that back on for comments as well.

I kinda like the format for the forum’s posts vs the article post’s comment area. Is there a plan to standardize them so they both have a similar looking format?
This was broken for a while
I didn’t know about clicking the number on the “Recent Topics” section. I remember seeing a link at the top of the post with the number of new posts or something like that. It might have just been for forum posts. On the old site, the forums and blog comments seemed more seamless (the blog comments were forum threads then, right?)
Edit: It doesn’t look like clicking on the number works if there is more than one page of comments (which is when it’s most useful.)
Please for the love of all
Please for the love of all that is holy change where you register for the website. It took me 10 minutes to find it!!!!
This website needs a place
This website needs a place where I can refill my coffee. π Seriously though, it looks good…although when I registered I didn’t see a place to create a password and had to do a password change via email…although I’m not completely ruling out user error (see above coffee comment).
Something that would be nice
Something that would be nice to have is a hardware/software repository where one could find links to home theater specific products. Not just your own reviews but also user submitted links/reviews
Maybe a way to help choose
Maybe a way to help choose htpc components with a reliability factor. For example, recommending a video card and driver version known as stable…
