I've never really understood the appeal of web browsing through a media center app (at least until they start designing pages specifically for it like the iphone) but, putting a flash compliant browser in your app sure opens up a lot of interesting doors.

My main reason for wanting web browsing through media center was exactly as you stated... for flash apps. There's no MCE plugin for last.fm. But their website has a flash player. So I fire up MCEBrowser and I can be playing last.fm stations in no time. Sure it'd be nicer if it was an integrated app, but since it's not, this is the only option. And before all these Netflix plugins were around, that was my only way to view "Watch Now" stuff as well.

Wow. I didn't know Meedio was still around. I tried that a couple years ago and it had a setup like something a develoepr would write for himself and not to be seen by an enduser.

Funny, Meedio was still my primary HTPC frontend until I built my new Vista machine this past Christmas. The MeediOS site is quite active these days, perhaps you were unaware of the project since you haven't checked out Meedio in a few years. And as far as setup goes, they've got a bunch of automated setup/config apps that do the work for you.

MeediOS picked up where Meedio left off when it died (aka went to Yahoo).
