Music Editing

My little sister is a figure skater and needs to edit a iTunes song for an ice show.  She needs to crop it so that it is 70 seconds long and then burn it to a CD so that it can play on a standard CD player.   I've never used iTunes and am not familiar with the relevant file formats.

Any recommendations on a good (and free) tool that I can use to crop the iTunes song and convert the file to CD player format (.wav?) ?

Thanks.

If the song was purchased from the iTunes store you will need to remove the DRM using Tunebite (http://tinyurl.com/4ql3q9) or other DRM removal software.  Then you can export the song from iTunes into a wav file and use CDWave (http://tinyurl.com/5ugdbx) to cut the file to length.

Good luck,
Brian

Take your song file and copy it, rename it something like "title 2." Open iTunes and import this "title 2" file, select it and right click. Go to "Get Info" and then click on the "Options" tab. Here you can put the "start" and "end" times isolating the part that you want. Make a new playlist and drop that song into it and then burn it to CD.

I use a freeware called audacity to edit my music files (.wav and mp3). once edited the way i like, i export to a wav or mp3 and then would use nero or wmp to burn to cd-r.
