Well no one ever made a requirement for HD content only digitized broadcasts were mandated. As in all industries the broadcasters and providers are driven by the bottom line…money. Maybe QVC can get an edge over HSN by showcasing flawless Teflon coatings on their frying pans in high def? Until the broadcasters and providers can squeeze more money from the consumers I wouldn’t expect a huge surge in HD content in the near-term at least.
