I thought I read somewhere that the Phenom II processors could manage there thermals via the CPU. Where back in the day you would turn on Cool and Quiet in the BIOS but the result was not what was expected and most people disabled it.
I ask because I was wondering if I thru a Phenom II chip on an old Gigabyte 690G board if it would make a decent WHS box and clock itself down in wattage as necessary.
