I’m new to actually owning an ATI card that has HDMI. It’s in my desktop PC (which runs Windows 7 Pro) so I can hook it up to our 32″ LCD in the bedroom for Hulu, etc. watching when we want to. I notice that the ATI HDMI Audio device doesn’t set itself as the default audio playback device. Which is fine when I’m using my desktop as a desktop PC with the 22″ monitor I have conncted via DVI and use headphones from the on-board audio codec.
My NVIDIA based laptop (running Vista Home Premium) I’ve noticed automatically recognizes when the HDMI output is used and the default audio device changes accordingly; from the on-board audio (and integrated speakers) to the NVIDIA HDMI Audio device. Unplug the HDMI cable, back to the on-board audio device.
Is this behavior possible with ATI?
