I’m also very excited about this and was wondering about it not so long ago. I didn’t realise the technical diffulties behind it though, so thanks for explaining it a bit. (I figured it had to be possible to transcode a normal dvd to a 3D copy and wondered why they weren’t yet available on the net. Offcourse I didn’t think about the need of the extra depth-info)
On the issue of glasses: I wouldn’t mind wearing them … I wear regular glasses to watch TV anyways, so I hope there will be plastic overlays available which I can just stick on my own glasses when there’s 3D on the tele. BTW, like sunglasses: those 3D glasses will be available in all kinds of comfortable shapes I presume, not only the cardboard versions we know today.
I actually can’t wait either!
