This post makes me sad. I wasn’t too concerned when the extenders got discontinued cuz I thought they kinda sucked, but losing custom installers is a huge deal and really hurts media center in a much more tangible way. I really thought when they created the netflix add-on and opened up cablecard that maybe media center still had a breath of life left, but things still look bleak for its future. Cablecard is only going to be something a small niche market of us geeks use so that won’t help.
