I have seen this article all over the place today and my question is this. How many xbox360 owners are actually buying the HD-DVD drive?
I know there is a large installed base of 360 owners but how many of them are actually paying $200 for the ability to watch these movies with their 360?
I know 5 people with 360s and none of them plan on buying it at all, much less anytime soon. These people all have nice HDTVs with surround sound systems so they should be people who are possible consumers of the next gen of dvds.
I think they need to come out with a combo drive that works and is affordable, or have studios widely support both formats before sales of either format are really going to take off.
