Avner is right that the syndicated TV model is ripe to be cannibalized by internet i.e. If I want to watch an episode of Seinfeld why should I be limited to just the episode that they broadcast to me?
But Avner is also glossing over Cuban’s one good point: the internet can’t handle the heavy demand for a top tier (viewership wise) first run show like American Idol or the Superbowl. Traditional broadcast is and will probably always be the most efficient method of delivering HD content simultaneously to millions of people.
