Just to let you know, it is true that not just any flash drive will work. I tried my 1GB Staples flash drive and I could not get it to install. I also tried a Seagate 6GB 1″ harddrive. Neither worked and I had to borrow a flash drive. I thought something else might be wrong after having tried those other drives, but the borrowed flash drive worked easily and I was up and running.
It makes a great SD media streamer and the online features are great. But, i rarely use boxee anymore and the apple TV is back to just serving my wife’s music and the occasional movie when we can’t find something in our library to watch. I just use my SageTV HD200 for video streaming. It can handle all the high quality formats that the AppleTV cannot. I don’t dabble in SD much anymore.
